Holy Peach, Batman. This Peach is huge. Mother Nature took her time to develop this sweet, crisp flavor, and this colossal size. Its original orchard variety name was GP10. It’s a Prima Gattie Peach, grown at Gerawan Farms in the San Joaquin Valley. One of the season’s very last Peaches is one of the season’s very best Peaches. It is very rare to get a great eating Peach this time of year. The Prima Gattie is that Peach. These Peaches weren’t picked last month. They are being picked right now, and they’ll keep picking these Peaches right into mid-October. The Gerawan family packs only their own fruit. Every Peach that goes into a Gerawan box was grown and picked by them. What a way to end the California Peach season. The Prima Gattie is not just another Peach. I hope you’ll think it’s a very special Peach too. Let them ripen for a just a few days. A shoe box is a great “ripening room” for these Peaches. Once ripe, head outside to the lawn and enjoy one of the juiciest, sweetest Peaches this time of year. I have been enjoying mine quite emensly.
